    keep it in an air-tite…

it’s simply a design flaw for these coins, the sun is the same height as the edge.
I have 25 tubes of those, in the original (beautiful) wooden box, and they’re almost all like that; even when you open the tube for the very first time. Your dealer sent you one of their top-of-the-tube coins if you got one with a shiny sun.

    my pleasure 4 watching…

My issue was resolved! One more reship from Scottsdale and I got a perfect coin. Check it out in my Scottsdale unboxing – third times the charm vid.

  5. Bigstackmcgee says:

Thanks for watching, lifeless. It is a beautiful coin nonetheless.

  6. Bigstackmcgee says:

    Lol, you got it, sternumkick!

That coin’s probably been, put in a tube and the sun being the high point on the coin, it’s not hard to see how they’ll get damaged, glad I crossed this off my buy list, good luck with the coin, cheers!

Butterfly knife… You put the badass in unboxing videos.

  9. Bigstackmcgee says:

Yeah, I can easily see it being a problem with the way the sun sticks out. Scottsdale sent another call tag, and they said if they can’t find a non scuffed one in their stock they’ll issue a new one.

  10. Jason Sohigian says:

I heard this was a known prob. w/this coin, thought they corrected it in second year of minting

  11. Bigstackmcgee says:

They were great the first time, so I’m hoping they are willing to exchange (assuming they have any non-scuffed coins)

  12. Bigstackmcgee says:

You’re probably right, but it stinks paying a premium for damaged coins.

  13. john cramer says:

send it back, they should make sure they don’t send another one with scuffs, their responsibility

  14. hadrock83 says:

Keep it. Is gonna keep comming like that since that part is rubbing against the sleve

  16. Bigstackmcgee says:

thanks Epic – I will at least contact them to let them know and see what happens.

  17. Bigstackmcgee says:

    good idea, SilverSanctum.

  18. Bigstackmcgee says:

thanks yttst01 – they mint them all the way up to 5 kilos!!

  19. Bigstackmcgee says:

good points, darian. I’m at least going to let them know about the scratch and ask if they have any that are not marked up

  20. Bigstackmcgee says:

not a bad idea – thanks joshua

  21. Bigstackmcgee says:

thanks papermoney – it is a very minor defect

  22. Bigstackmcgee says:

    thanks Cilician

  24. Bigstackmcgee says:

lol, it might as well have been. No, it is a different coin with the same problem.

  25. EpicRV says:

That is just a really cool looking coin. Sucks you keep getting scuffed coins. I’d probably call them and say look I am going to keep it but I am disappointed — maybe get some free shipping out of it next time.
